Stockholm and Farewell Party

Alarm clock set for 5:30. I can barely stand up. Breakefast, shaving , last things to be put on baggage and ready to call a cab. The flight is at 7:55, this time I catch it, destination Sweden , Stockholm. Last time was in June 2008, but it is always a pleasure to go back: Baltic culture, resembling what Viking population has left them from the past, today Stockholm is a multicultural and vibrant city, architettonically beautiful, putting together unique views and panorama. Transportation, though, is expensive, even if my Lithuanian colleague disagrees with that. In front of us, there is an antique building, spotting a door which looks like the entrance of a church (somehow it resembles Versace's house entrance in South Beach, Miami). I think to myself, is it a joke or we came for religious tourism? None of them! We get in and a red carpet is laying on the floor which brings upstairs: that's the parent company office. The main room's ceiling is just a pyramid addressing the sky, a rainbow-varying coulered rooms fill in the remaining space; upstairs the kitchen and terrace make the environment friendly to work in; we must wait until the party starts in order to see the downstairs floor: feeling of excitement is on the air, nobody has still seen that! I spent my day registering to delicious, reading a book about domain.com conquest-history and get introduced with the hotel room. The party starts at 5:30, the dress-code is pink, they say to fit the bar colour, I believe because it's a touch of femininity which pervades the company and the swedish culture.
CEO cuts the ribbon after speech, the party is officially started: curiosity is to see how the downstairs floor looks like. Big fun room with any kind of entertainment, from baby foot to Playstation III, a gym to work out, a lounge bar and a big room for sauna...WOW, can't believe my eyes, it's just astonishing! Later in the night, with alcohol in our veins, we find the SEO sitted in front of the screen playing drums with the Playstation: that doesn't happen everywhere, folks. I don't remember much more from there on, apart finding me sitted in a Mc Donald's for chemical anger and police coming in... "Bad Boys Bad Boys, what we gonna do? " We laugh and chill, until the next day. Woke up at 11, breakfast in the lounge hotel room, we check out and move into the apartment with the colleagues crew. This time, we are a bit out of town, but the apartment enjoys a good view over the river crossing the city. We go back in town for some shopping, a free-style snowboard contest in the main square, lunch and shopping into H&M, afterlall we are in the nation of H&M -:) Carlito, an Italian dude from Friuli, invites us for a typical Italian dinner: we start with Spritz (those from Veneto will know about) and Italian appatizers, pasta with gamberetti and rucola, salami and a wonderful dessert, followed by coffee and coffee-killin (for those who don't know what the last is, just figure out). We are ready for the Saturday night fever, excited and high. Some Chileanes meet our way, guys bet on my skills as a Casanova to get to talk with them: they are ladies of course. We end up in city center, trying to get access into clubs, but it's not easy. Vincenza is just 21(some clubs ask you to be 25 in order to get in, unbelieving), the bouncer refuses to let us in because I look like as border-line type which could cause some fight inside the club..so after two denial of entrance, we are lining up in an other club: this time we are in and the party starts: "A billi, a billi, a billi, a billi,..." this is the song lyrics with which we are dancing with my Newyorker dude in the dance floor, while in the other room other people dance at the rhythm of Lambada ( when it came out in the 80s, it was regarded as an extreme dancing, what is by now compared with the R&B style?), eyes are pointed at us, I got the attention of somebody: it's not the bouncer/security guy, but a crew of sexy chicks: my friend are again challenging if I am brave enough to approach them. Yes, I am! Here, we go. Approach, get to dance and the rest is on. Lovely night, we first risk to street fight in the underground, then I end-up in a dormitory. Have no mobile, no idea where I am and the next day (Sunday) was the flight-back: I like to take risk, some times it pays off well, others not. This time it payed off!
I am back in Tallinn, ready to give another farewell party! Stay alert! <_>
