TALLINN-RIGA-MILAN: GO AND BACK IN 4 DAYS !!

Stockholm...layed down on a sofa of the company's apartment! Surfing the Internet looking for a flight to reach Milan in July. Giovanni suggests to leave from Riga with Raynair (yeah this low cost company that offer cost effective tickets, but the service on board sucks)..well, I live in Tallinn, five hours away by bus..Cool, well done, I take it: departure on 5th July from Riga, back the 8th at Riga. Here it starts the trip.
Tallinn, almost midnight 4th July:
I go on the bus and just sit down in a comfortable place, try to relax and get sleepy. A funny Russian couple set in front of me; the husband wants to prove he is the Alpha man of the situation, with his physical appearance, so it starts to pose in different ways and never stops..OMG, I hope he will understand I dont give a damn about her wife...ok, change position and get to sleep.
Around 5 o' clock in the morning I am at Riga airport...what the heck I do up to 11:25 (time of departure). You got it: I try to sleep...first bench to short, "go and look for another", I whisper to myself...well done, in perfect begger style, I lay down in a really crowded place, with my black leather coat, green hat in front of the face and grab my bags (never know..some thiefs on the way!).

On the Raynair flights, passangers are allowed to seat wherever they desire..I have just a preference to seat next to the aisle, never know, some cute hostess is always a pleasure. Next to me set a couple of Italians, but for a while I pretend not to understand...this huge Italian man just starts to talk loudly, he seems funny actually and talks talks talks...I start to wonder, is he really a cool guy? He even flirts with the hostesses, I have to get to know him. "Ciao, vi è piaciuta Riga?" and the conversation boosts...
Whenever you'll find yourself talking with people from Milan, this question never misses "What's your job?".."Well, I have just started to work for an It company...bla bla bla"..As I am curious, I keep the same question up to the end of the flight and listen guys what comes out: "They work in porn industry and they are coming back from a recruiting session in Riga...can imagine the rest! Hilarious.

Milan, Saturday 5th July.
Arriving at Bergamo airport, the bus is just outside the airport. 40 degrees, the air conditioned is on and the driver is heading to Milan.After one hour we arrive at Milan, the capital of fashion, shoppings, models. Just a brief walk into the Central station and I take the underground to go home. The only reason why I am doing this trip is an exam I must face on Monday, but actually I haven't spent one single hour to get it ready, so on my bags there are just the books I need to overcome the exam, no computer, Ipod or other form of distraction. The intention is just to spend the weekend studying and get ready for the exam..I start to think if I would be able to succeed it or not, and I am more doubtful than confident about the result of it...nevertheless I decide to get rid of it!
Milan, Monday 7th July.
Just woke up..I really don't feel like go for the exam! I am heading to university and met my turkish colleague..she convinces me to go for the exam! Go and rock it. Exam done:
I am so happy, my self-esteem is on fire and wow ! Mission accomplished! Now the day is free. I go shopping, jogging, partying at ex-flatmate's place..it's 2 o' clock in the night, my luggages are not ready yet and the bus to the airport is in 2 hours..F..k, hurry up! Call the cab and get the bus..sleepy!
Riga, Tuesday 8th July.
I land in Riga around 11. These days getting to know people with such social network like couchsurfing is really easy! I have just contacted one local from Riga which offers to show me around the city! Here we go. Riga, I must admit, is much more charming than Tallinn: the river just crosses the city, widespread and it stills has this soviet spirit!
Got to visit the museum, the old town, university, park and so on..the lady, I would say the guide, is really gentle and makes me feel very in touch with the spirit of the city.
I am encanted! My bus leaves at 4:30 in the afternoon but I refuse to leave..I still wanna enjoy the city more..time filled perfectly! The next bus is at 11:30 but I am risking not to find any available ticket..next day, what should I say to the boss "Well..I lost my bus!" Not believable, but I take the risk...close my eyes and tries to rest on the bus.
Tallinn, 5' o clock in the morning.
I survived this experience! Back in Tallinn. The sun is rising, the taxi from the station refuses to bring me home for 100 koroon! Well, I'll enjoy some fresh air..Got home, have breakfast and get ready for my work day ! ! ! Ready !

Fashion

What is fashion? This word has always been full of mistery and charming. Let's try to give a definition of it using some metaphor. Is maybe "a form of art applied to the human body", or is maybe just some "piece of material finely combined together which fit perfect bodies". Whatever the explanation is, a unique definiton will be always reductive. I would call it a form of creativity and ultimate creation. Fashion follows the spirit of its creator, the stylists.
Rich countries live fashion as a daily issue, people like to be fancy, get social attention and pose as model, just to get noticed, to upgrade their own status. Having a definite position inside your
social group is also determined from the way you dressed. If your are branded, than you get social bonus and this can be spent in terms of image and respect. Living Milan is living fashion on a daily basis: walking for the streets you can notice models to every corner; just tiny bodies which fastly move forward in a dynamic catwalk style. Glamour is a word that is very often used in this environment, stylish, snobby as well but the ultimate goal of nowadays fashion is just
to seduce! Seduce your partner, your potential chaser, your employer in a continuos effort to control the frame by subtle dress communication. Seduction will be the next topic to be discussed so be on alert..
